Barrier-free access for people with disabilities (Divyangs):
At Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRCL), we are committed to create an inclusive and accessible environment for all passengers, including people with disabilities (Divyangs). 1. Accessible stations: all metro stations are equipped with ramps, elevators, and tactile paving that allow easy access for wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments.
2. Preferential boarding: We give priority boarding and alighting to people with disabilities (Divyangs), ensuring a seamless and comfortable transition onto the metro cars.
3. Reserved seating: There are seats reserved for passengers with disabilities (Divyangs) in the metro cars to ensure their comfort during the journey.
4. Staff assistance: Our station staffs are trained to assist passengers with disabilities (Divyangs) and to accompany them to the platforms and answer their queries.
5. Visual and audio announcements: All stations and Metro cars are equipped with visual and audio announcement system so that the travel information is accessible to the people with visual or hearing impairments.
6. Accessible ticket counters: Ticket counters at metro stations are designed to access the people with disabilities (Divyangs), with adequate height.
7. Emergency assistance: In emergency situation, there are intercoms present in every metro car and at every station that connect the passengers directly to our staff for immediate assistance.
8. Signage in Braille: To assist passengers with visual impairments, signs in Braille are posted at key locations such as elevators, ticket counters and in metro cars.
9. Accessible restrooms: Accessible restrooms are available at every metro stations.
